Food for Thought V

I was at the SPICMACAY Jammu Convention where in an intensive with the great Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan ( Click here for more) I came across this piece. It was a soul stirring moment when he taught us this song, a conversation between Radha and Krishna, a song of eternal love.

Darpan Haath liye yadunandan,
Sanchi Kaho Vrikhbaan dulari,
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.

Humro rang jaise chanda ki ujariya
Tumro rang jaise rain andhiyari
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.

Tumre sar par mukut viraje
Hum par tum Giridhari
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.

Tumne to Govardhan dhara
Main dharu govardhan dhari
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.

Hum kya kahe tum hi kyon na dekho,
Hum gori tum Shyam bihari
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.
Mero mukh niko, ke tero radha pyari.
